Hi Bob, thanks for trying to help me. This one seems to be a really tough brick wall. The only other bit of information I have found is a mention of Samuel Newey in the Charleroi Mail, Thursday December 14 1911, as the president of the Black Diamond Local Union no. 235. I'm not sure if this is my Samuel or not. He seems to have disappeared when he left England, maybe he changed his name.
