Bev, Do you have any records that reveal the John Newman that married Elizabeth Shadrack; whether he had any siblings? It just might be possible that a member of the family wanted to keep the connection within the family when they came to the USA and that is how my 5 g,grandfather was named Shadrach or Shadrack. He was born in 1775 in Maryland, USA. We know that this is not the same Shadrack but is it possible that there may have been another Shadrack female that married also a Newnham under any spelling of the "N" name?
