Nancy,
Have you found Polly's parents? I have a Polly Newcomer who married a Henry Black. I'm approximating she was born about 1803 and her date of death was 23 March 1831 in Rockbridge County, Virginia. Her tombstone is in the cemetery at Oxford Presbyterian Church in Rockbridge (there is a picture of the stone on Find a Grave). I'm fairly sure that her father was Jacob Newcomer, but I'm not sure when he came to Virginia or from where. Maybe you can shed some light on this question. I haven't been able to determine his wife's name either.
