Francis & Ann Elizabeth (nee Marron)Newbury where my great grandparents.

they had a son - also called Francis born circa 1894 (?) - my grandfather.

Francis (my grandfather) joined up in 1914 as a "bantam", a regiment for men consider to small (in stature)for the regular army.

My father has his war medals at home.

He married Mary Maclennan (AKA Mac) a housemaid from the Leeds area in the early 1920's.

They lived in Hartlepool for a while & then moved to Middlesbrough.

They had four children,Frank, June & Ian (my father)

Francis worked as a bill sticker & served in the ARP during WW2.

Mary died in the 1950s & Francis died in 1964 (?)following a motorbike crash.

If you want any more specific info - other brothers or sisters of my grandfather or actual dates, please do not hesistate to contact me. The Newbury's are alive & well & still living in the "Boro"
