Only thing I can think of is that my father, John Newbern, was born in McCauseland, Iowa, and grew up right near DeWitt. His father, Lester, was a doctor in the area in the early 1920s. Lester was born in St. Lawrence, SD., in 1884. His father, Samuel, was born in Bucks County, Penn., in 1839.
Samuel's father, William, was born in Penn., about 1810. The family had several children.
Prior to that, we're uncertain. Not sure if any of this is relevant.
