Guess it does read that way but the original spelling in Bertie County was Newboorn at least that was usually the way it was spelled but a lot of variations. Some of the branches used a N and some M. Mine uses a M. As far as we know, everyone in this country with either spelling descend from Thomas and Eleanor. The trick if finding which line.
