Margaret, I have just begun to search my wife's genealogy, using mainly the Tennessee State Library and Archives. I think she is also decended from Thomas Mewboorn and Eleanor (spelled Ellinor in the records here. Her lineage is something like this: Deborah Kay Martin Rose-9, Gladys Margaret Rippy-8, Clyde Millar4d Rippy, Sr.-7,Lula Mewborn-6,Francis J. Mewborn-5, Asa D. Mewborn-4, John Mewboorn Jr.-3, John Mewboorn Sr-2, Thomas Mewboorn-1 died 1749 in Bertie CO, NC. I have others who aren't in a direct line of descent is you are interested. I would be delighted to exchange information.
