Sue, understand the delay in responding. Thanks for the info and I will add it to my "family tree" software.
For the 2001 Newbill family reunion in VA I wrote a genealogy paper tracing my family back to Francis Newbill who was "transported" from England by Joseph Croshaw in 1651 with his 4 sons: George, James, Nathaniel and . Do you know from which son your husband's line descends?
The paper is over 40 pages long and if interested I could attach it to an email.
Some historical interesting facts:
George (Francis - James - George - George) Newbill b abt 1740 in Essex County VA d abt 1896 in Halifax County VA gave 14 1/2 gallons of brandy to the Revolutionary War.
John and Peter Newbill, brothers, (Francis - James - George - William - John & Peter) served in the War of 1812.
George Thomas Newbill, my gr-grandfather (Francis - James - George - William - John - John - George Thomas) served in the 26th Virginia Infantry and was captured at the Battle of Petersburg in 1864 and sent to the Union POW camp at Elmira NY.
Look forward to hearing from you.
