I noted with interest from your post of many, many moons ago that your branch of the Newbery family moved up from Axminster to Langport in Somerset.
Well, this is kind of exciting, because it may help me to trace my roots a bit further. I have, with much dificulty discovered that my Great Grandfather (George Frederick known as Frederick) originated in about 1855/6 from Huish Episcopi, which is but a stone's throw from Langport. So it is highly likely that there is a relationship there.
I have, so far, not been able to ascertain the parents names. So Any help you can give will be much appreciated. Otherwise my next step will be to contact St. Mary's church in Huish to see what records they might have.

Paul N.
