We are descended from John Newbery and Mary F. Jerrard who had emmigrated from the Parish of Shute near Axminster, Devon, England in 1841, were shipwrecked, returned to England and set sail again with their children, in 1847.
We have much on the ancestry of Mary Jerrard but nothing whatever on her husband John. Mary's family, the Bartletts and Jerrards, had resided at Chideock Dorset.
We do know that John Newbery was born in 1805, farmed in Ontario, north of Toronto, and died in 1854. I have much data on his descendants.
