My Husband is also a Descendent of Newberry's. His ancestor was John Darius Newberry and Cynthia Ann Powell. His Great Grandmother was Mary Jane Newberry, daughter of John and Cynthia, who married William Benton Evans of Gentry County, Missouri. I don't know about the Indian lineage however I know Robert Newberry married to Jeanette Bircham (sp) lived in Oklahoma homesteading on or near Indian Territory. I would just like to know where John and Cynthia went when they left the Gentry and Davis County area of Missouri. I have searched the state of Missouri for the burial place of Robert and Esther Newberry. I don't find them in Crawford County which is now Phelps County, Missouri. I do know Mary Jane Newberry Evans was born in Wisconsin.
