Hello,
Do you know of any Weakley Co links to Joseph M. Newberry or William Henry Newberry? Both lived in Stewart Co, TN.
My father’s maternal line descends from William Henry Newberry of Stewart Co, TN, b. abt 1824 in TN. Family recollection is that it was said that his father was b. in NC. His son Madison Allen Newberry was my gggrandfather.
There was a Joseph M. Newberry, b. 1832, TN who m. Catherine (Kate) McGuire in Stewart Co, 1860. His father was b. NC and mother b. VA. Joseph was a single man in Stewart Co in 1850. This family eventually moved to Houston Co/Humphreys Co, TN. Their son, Joseph M. m. Florence Connell and their daughter Jennie m. Alexander Connell. (or Connelly).
I don’t know if Joseph M. Newberry is related to William “Henry” Newberry, but it seems possible. There was also a Madison Newberry in Weakley Co, b. 1845 which makes me wonder if our Newberry’s might be related to them.
Any help greatly appreciated!
