Dr Nevitt Passes Away
Funeral of Alexandria Surgeon to be held Tomorrow
Was Veteran of Confederate Army and One of the Oldest Physicians in Northern Virginia
Dr Napoleon B Nevitt, 81 years years old, a surgeoan in the Confederate Army throughout the civil war and one of the oldest physicians in northern Virginia, died Monday night at his home near Accotink, Fairfax County.
He is survived by two brothers, Benjamin Nevit of Fairfax County, and Thomas Nevitt of Pulaski County, VA. and a sister Mrs Emma Cox Nevitt of La Plata MD. His wife died in 1894.
The funeral services will take place at the family residence at two o'clock tomorrow afternoon. The services will be conducted by Rev Everard Meade rector of Pohich Prestestant Episcopal Church, of which Dr Nevitt was a vestryman for more than 40 years. and burial will be in the cemetery near by.
Dr Nevitt has been in ill health for some time, but previous to his last illness he had been actively engaged in the practice of his profession nearly 60 years.
