I am looking for any information on Daniel J. Nevers. Who were his parents? Who were his siblings?
Daniel's parents were from Claremont, NH.
He was born 3/12/1839. He enlisted in the Union Army on 2/27/1862 with Co. "I", 5th Regiment, NH Volunteers Infantry Division as a Private. He was discharged on 12/12/1862 due to illness, from Co "B' 13th Regiment. On 12/29/1863 he joined the Veteran Reserve Corps.as a Private. He was discharged 11/15/1865 in Boston,
MA.
He married Wrispa Orrisa Howard on 9/23/1871. Wrispa was born to Henry Hoskins Howard and Lucinda Warren Davis on 3/6/1851.
Daniel and Wrispa had the following children:
1. Bertha M. Nevers 7/18/1872-5/19/1896
Bertha married ? FISH
2. Gertrude L. Nevers 7/10/1877-9/21/1964
Gertrude married Edward C. PREBLE
3. Lillian Nevers
10/28/1878-2/23/1879
4. Jennie E. Nevers
1/10/1881-12/24/1907
Jennie married Linus PERHAM
5. Enoch F. Nevers
9/7/1883-4/14/1888
6. Florence H. Nevers
4/26/1885-1/5/1957
Florence married ? TAYLOR had a daughter Helen W. Taylor
7. Melvin Arthur Nevers
9/8/1890-8/16/1979
Melvin married Bertha Jennie GREGSON (they had one son and 1 daughter)
Daniel was plagued with the illness he contracted during his hitch with the army, until his death 6/20/1901. He was a farmer and his illness made it very difficult to provide for his family.
Wrispa passed away on 3/31/1937.
