I am the great great great granddaughter of Caroline/Carolyn Rose Neve, born at Tenterden, Kent, England 24 January 1791, christened 16 March. Her parents were John Neve & possibly Mary Tanner?

I would like to go further back, & have more details.

Caroline married James Grant at Tenterden, Kent, England on 12 Sept 1818.

They arrived 15 April 1824 at Hobart Town (Australia) in the chartered 320 ton sailing ship "Heroine".

Carolin Rose Neve Grant died 21 November, 1868, at Launceston, Tasmania, Australia.

By the way, the surname (family name) used to be Le Neve, so include that in your research, everyone looking for Neves way back.

In fact, my great uncle still had Le Neve amongst his names.

Isn't it funny how family sayings can be passed down? We still have one, James Grant saying to his wife Caroline (nee Neve) at a dinner party (& he was hard of hearing, so it must have been loud enough for other guests to hear) "Caroline, is me nose verra red?" You can imagine the Scottish accent.

If you are related, &/or have more details, please contact me?
