To all Neuman Researchers - Neuman DNA Project

If there are any Neuman researchers that have thought of trying out DNA testing to aid in your genealogy research, just a heads up there is a sale going on now till the end of June.
This is a y-chromosome DNA test for the Neuman (Neumann, Newman etc.) surname. We have about 100 members in our particular project with the Newman surname and variants thereof. Some of our project participants have verified what lineage they belong to, others with brickwalls and limited knowledge of their family history have been able to find what lineage they belong to this way.Others don't have any match, but along with all project members will be compared to all future members. Just as important you will see what lineages you don't belong to.Once you have a match you will need to use traditional genealogy to figure out the common ancestor you share with someone else, but DNA helps narrow things down.
Since its a y-chromosome test only males with the Neuman surname (direct male descendants of their male Neuman ancestor) would be able to participate.Women or researchers that are not direct male descendants can recruit a related direct male Neuman descendant to participate for them.We would recommend at least the y-dna37 test. The sale ends June 30th so if you wish to get the reduced price you would need to order by then.If you happen to be reading this after the sale has ended we would still like to have you participate. We are always looking for new participants.
Here is a link to the order page and prices and there is also a link on that page to our project website.
