Through my research, the majority of the Nuffer's came from Southern Germany (Wurttenburg, Bavaria, etc.) My family immagrated to the US in 1880 from Neuffen, Wurttenburg, Germany (a small towm approx 18 miles SSE of Stuttgart. My Great-great grandfather, John Nuffer, was born in Neuffen and immagrated to Idaho in 1880. I have setup a web site with genealogy info at http://www.geocities.com/jnufferus/JohnNuffer.html Many of the family members have changed the spelling since leaving Germany. Other spellings include: Neuffer, Neufer, Nufer, Nuffer, etc. MDN
