My ggrand-mother was Anna Neubauer, b: 1868 in Boonville, Missouri. Her family family has always been very illusive for me, but my grandmother said that they spoke German in their home until "the war" (I assume from my grand mother's dob: 1894, she was talking about WW1) and then they switched to English out of fear someone would think they were German sympathisers. The family history has been hushed and I can't seem to find very much on them. I believe that Anna's father was Josheph H Neubauer. They lived in Illinois and Missouri but I must assume that they origionally came from Germany. Do you know anything about them?
