Neubauers in Iowa

My great grandfather's name was Frederick Neubauer and my great grandmother's name was Augusta (Egelbrecht) Neubauer. My grandfather's name was Albert Johannes Frederick Neubauer (b. 1898, d. 1964) and my grandmother's name was Dora Anna (Meyer) Neubauer (b. 1901, d. 1993). My father's name is Virgil Albert Neubauer (b. 1931), and my mother's name is Fanchon Kay Neubauer (b. 1936). I seem to recall that my grandmother once said that our name used to be either spelled "Neibauer" or pronounced that way. I have been to Germany many times and know that Neubauer is a common spelling there.
