Dear Terri: Thank you.
I am not related to you in anyway known; and even if, it would be by intermarriage, and very remote.
It was not uncommon for first cousins to marry, right on up through the 1900's; a few, even today.
My "concern" with the Neu family, was the "association" more than anything; coming from the same area in Germany, coming to America on same ship, settling in same area here and further "inter-action". Then, the one, at least, intermarriage between "my" line, the Boor/Bohr family, and the church inter-action, etc.
The German influence was very strong, especially in Penn. area.
