I have a pedigree of Arthur James Netterville Esquire used to request the grant from his Majesty of the Viscountcy of Douth, county Meath. The pedigree goes back to Sir Luke Netterville b.1475, m. Margaret Luttrell, b. 1477.
I also have geneology that goes back to Formal Netterville, b. about 912 either in Meath Ireland or Normandy France, m.
Phildelphia De Vasey, of Meath, Dowth Ireland.
I also have a chart showing Alice St Lawrence, descendent of Edward III m. Philipa, who married John Netterville b.1455
I loose the Nettervilles in France. The name was probably somewhat different and I can't connect it.
My main problem is my great grandfather James Joseph Netterville who came to America from Ireland with his father Francis Netterville and Mother Margaret Murphy around 1800 at the age of about 3. Francis died in or around Phildelphia within a year or so. I have checked death records as best I can and cannot find any record of Francis. I cannot connect to the last known Netterville in Ireland in this line named
Visc. Nicholas Netterville m. Lady Catherine Burton.
There is a history of Nettervilles dying without issue or having daughters or never marrying. It is terribly confusing.
Our family history talks about a Lord Netterville but never mentions his first name or how far back he would be.
I would be more than happy to share what I have and hopefully you might have something I could use and who knows we may be relaterd.
