Dooish, Co. Tyrone is only a few miles from my current address near Drumquin. As you are probably aware any Netherys that exist in Ireland seem to be based in the Drumquin area. There is a Nethery man buried in the chapel graveyard at the foot of Dooish mountain. I have not yet ascertianed his name or indeed which Nethery he is. My father's name is James, his father was William and his father was James Hill Nethery. As far a I can recall my father had an uncle named Andrew. All recent records of the Nethery family seem to indiacte that they have recided in the Drumquin area for at least five or six generations.

Previous research by a north American lady would suggest that the Netherys came to Ireland with King William of Orange circa 1690.

A great aunt of mine has traced the family back a few generations. She now lives in England and is in poor health. I will attempt to unearth her research to see if we can shed any light on Robert Nethery from Dooish.
