Hello Nola,

I understand that Arnold Nethers married a Hoffman/Huffman and had a daughter named Margaret Sommerville Nethers.

I am a descendant of Margaret Nethers Hazell, wife of Elisha Hazell of Culpeper County, Va. Their son, Bennett Hazell left Virginia to settle into Orange County, NC, in the part that is now Alamance County, NC. I think that it is significant that Bennett and his wife, Nancy Elizabeth Shutt named their eldest child and daughter, Eliza Sommerville Shutt.

This given name of Sommerville, I believe is a family name, possibly coming from an intermarriage with a related family to a Sommerville.

I would like to discuss this with you.
