Above are all earlier variations found on the internet of how our line's surname is spelled. We now spell it by capitalizing the first letter only and with no spaces in between letters; Vandanacker. My earliest ancestor immigrated from Nijmegen,Gelderlands, Netherlands. The family began arriving from the Netherlands abt.1848 and landing in New York. The immigrant ancestor Leonardus/Leendent Michiel/Michel/Michael md.1819 Nijmegen to Anna Rievers. In 1856 the family migrated from New York to Jackson Co., Iowa. Michael & Anna Van Den Acker's eldest son, Christiaan/Christian/ or "Chris" Van Danacker b.1844 Nijmegen, homesteaded in present day Taylor Twp, Hanson Co., Iowa in 1880. Unable to locate birth records from the Netherlands or US census records prior to 1910. Any additional info about the Vandanacker family is appreciated. Thank you.
