Jan, thanks for all your help, sorry I haven't seen this post before now. I have listed all the information I have below. I have tried to clarify. You will note areas in parentheses, these are my notes. I got the full name of hendrik ludwig from Grietje's death information, which you will find below. all information I have on Glauberg/glauburg: Family History: Maria Franciska Fischer, Mckee, Weiring married Henry Glauberg/glauburg in Bellville, Austin county, Texas in 1881. This was Francesca's third marriage. From Family search: Henry Glauberg MARY FRANCES FISCHER Family Marriage: 1882 Bellville, Austin, Texas Husband Age at Marriage: 42 Wife Age at Marriage: 29, this record also states that Henry died in 1898 but doesn't say where. (Whomever submitted these records was wrong on both ages as Franciska was born in Schotterland april 1843, so she would have been 39 years old. This would be more accurate as she was listed as 27 yrs old in 1870 census married to marcus mckee, her first husband: From Early marriage records of Austin county Texas I find the following: McKeeMarcus FrancisFischer D 306 10 Mar 1868 (from this marriage one daughter Nellie b. 1875) second marriage: Weiring John Frances, Mrs. McKee F 323 28 Feb 1877 (from this marriage twin girls Annie and Suzie Glauberg Henry Franciska, Mrs.Werring F492 9 Jul 1881 Henry and Franciska had the following children Lewis born 1883 Betty born 1884 Rogina born 1885 Mary 1887 According to the Texas census record for 1900, Franciska was a widow, she was born in 1844 emigrated in 1848 and having had 7 children with 7 children living at the time of the census. : From Early marriage records of Austin county Texas I find the following: Glauberg George Maggie Harvey F412 5 Aug 1879 INDEX TO NATURALIZATION RECORDS for austin county, texas Glanburg, Henry Holland 54 Dec. 24, 1877 Dec. of Int. surname F.name Born Age Port emigrated date Notes Glanburg Henry Christendam 54 years Philadelphia,PA Jan 1873 24 Dec 1877 Holland (the only christendam I could find was in suriname which was a dutch colony, but was not sure if it was a town or river or mountain range, I can see how with the old world handwriting someone might make christendam out of amsterdam.) (now according to this Henry would have been born in 1823) ship manifest: 1874 Lodewyk Glauburg, age of 26, laborer, coming from Germany Hendrick Glauburg, age 45, laborer, coming from Germany (according to the manifest henry would have been born in 1829 and george born in 48) I do not find Henry on the 1880 census george is on the 1880 census and on the 1900 census: George had the following children: Bessie by Maggie harvey per 1880 census The following with Alfreda Dahnice: per 1900 census Henry George Oscar Josephine amelia Death certificate in formation for George: Name: George Glauberg Death date: 09 Sep 1915 Death place: San Antonio, Bexar, Texas Gender: Male Race or color (on document): W Age at death: 63 years 11 months 25 days Birthdate: 14 Sep 1851 (if this birthdate is correct then going on my theory, Helena Coiterier should be the mother as she didn't divorce Hendrik until 1852) Birthplace: Holland Marital status: Married Father's name: Glauberg Father's birthplace: Holland Mother's name: Elfrieda Dahnice (this is wrong as this was the name of his second wife, not his mother) Mother's birthplace: Indionola Texas (this is the birth place for Elfrieda Dahnice) Occupation: R. R. Engineer Burial place: Cuero Texas Burial date: 10 Sep 1915 Film number: 2051495 Digital GS number: 4165735 Image number: 2269 Reference number: v X cn 18949 Collection: Texas Deaths, 1890-1976 Information from Family Search Pilot records: (note: any field that does not contain information has been deleted to save space and organize) Name: Hendrik Glauburg Gender: Male Residence: Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands Birthdate: 27 Sep 1823 Birthplace: Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands Father's name: Lodewijk Glauburg Mother's name: Grieke De Vos Batch number: C90052-5 Film number: 113528 Collection: Netherlands Births and Baptisms Name: Grietje De Vos Gender: Female Death date: 12 Feb 1850 Death place: Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Nederland Age at death: 53y Birthdate: 1797 Marital status: Married (this would mean that her husband is still alive, so maybe He is the one that died in 1873) Spouse's name: Heinrich Ludwig Georg Van Glomberg Batch number: I05744-3 Film number: 253783 Collection: Netherlands Deaths and Burials Name: Levenloos Gender: Female Death date: 09 Jun 1849 Death place: Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Nederland Father's name: Hendrik Glauburg Mother's name: Helena Coeterier Batch number: I05744-0 Date range: Film number: 253780 Collection: Netherlands Deaths and Burials Name: Hendrika Wilhelmina Migchelse Gender: Female Death date: 27 Oct 1877 Death place: Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Nederland Age at death: 50y Birthdate: 1827 Birthplace: Amsterdam Marital status: Married Spouse's name: Hendrik Glauberg Father's name: Petrus Migchelse Mother's name: Jannetjen Willemsen Batch number: B03829-5 Film number: 253868 Collection: Netherlands Deaths and Burials (Henry didn't declare until dec of 1877, so maybe the death of his wife helped him decide, he didn't remarry until 1881 so that is a good mourning period, It does state she is married at the time of death so we know he is still living somewhere and would not be the one that died in 1873) Name: Hendrik Lodewijk Georg Glauburg Gender: Male Residence: Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands Birthdate: 06 Dec 1862 Birthplace: Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands Father's name: Hendrik Glauburg Mother's name: Hendrika Wilhelmina Migchelsen Batch number: I03644-4 Date range: Film number: 253405 Collection: Netherlands Births and Baptisms Name: Hendrik Wilhelm Glauburg Gender: Male Residence: Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands Birthdate: 23 Feb 1866 Birthplace: Amsterdam, Noord Holland, Netherlands Father's name: Hendrik Glauburg Father's age: 42y Mother's name: Hendrika Wilhelmina Migchelsen Maternal grandfather's name: Maternal grandmother's name: Batch number: C02119-2 Film number: 253419 Collection: Netherlands Births and Baptisms Name: Hendrik Wilhelm Glauburg Gender: Male Death date: 22 Apr 1866 Death place: Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Nederland Age at death: 2m Birthdate: 1866 Father's name: Hendrik Glauburg Father's birthplace: Mother's name: Henrika Wilhelmina Migchelsen Batch number: B05327-2 Film number: 253833 Collection: Netherlands Deaths and Burials Detail result: (Deceased) Source Civil register - Death Archive location Historisch Centrum Overijssel General Municipality: Ommen, Stad Record number: 61 Registration date: 00-00-1873 Deceased Lodewijk Hendrik George Glauburg Father Mother Partner I have searched Familysearch throughly and cannot find marriage records for any of the parties. The only way to affirm marriages are the birth records indicating parentage and the death records of the females indicating the husband's name. Though the birth date does not match on the following, this is the closest I have come to parents for Grietje de vos. These parents named all their daughters Grietje. The name Vos and de Vos is most prevalent in the Amsterdam area and a complete search of Family search pilot records revealed less than one hundred records for the name Grietje de Vos Possible parents of Grietje vos Name: Grietje Vos Gender: Female Christening place: Amsterdam, NH, Nederland Residence: Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands Birthdate: 09 Jul 1794 Birthplace: Amsterdam, Noord-Holland, Netherlands Father's name: Frans Vos Mother's name: Jannetje Neijsen Batch number: C90044-7 Film number: 113176 Collection: Netherlands Births and Baptisms This is all the information I have and my presumptions on the Glauberg/glauburg amsterdam connection. If the child of Hendrika's didn't know if his father was living or not at the time of his marriage, then that would be an indication that I could possibly still be on the right track. If you notice the naming pattern on the american side Henry named his son Lewis, and George named his son's Henry and George. Annie and Suzie both named one of their son's Henry, suzie also named her other boys William and louis. my own grandmother named one of her boys louis and another Henry and another william, Betty named one of her boys George, and Nellie named one of her boys George and another william. I know I am on the right track, I just got to find the proof. I may never find the proof, but think that I have come as close as possible to proving without actual proof. I just wish my 80 yr old aunt could remember something. Notify Administrator about this message?
