Our continual search for family seeks information on any remaining family relations still remaining in what we believe to be our ancestral village home in SPIER, in the municipality of Midden Drenthe, the Netherlands. Our earliest ancestor Jan Hendricks Spier was believe to have been from there circa 1640 and before. His son Hendrick janzen Spier emigrated to America with his family in 1652 (?)... The village of SPIER is located 11 km north of Hoogeveen and in a 2001 census indicated 91 inhabitants and contained 35 residences. The surrounding countryside had a 2001 population of some 370.
