Hi. Me again. Here's my predicament. John H. Nethercutt, I have been told, is the same John H. Nethercutt of Civil War fame (CSA). I show him as the son of Loftin and Nancy (Barfield) Nethercutt. I also have record that he married two women, first Zilphia Quinn, then Susan Matilda Dixon. However, I have read on other websites that Colonel John H. Nethercutt and his wife were murdered together sometime after the Civil War (presumably because he had offered testimony that implicated a former CSA soldier in instigating a desertion of numerous men). However, John's wives--at least according to my records--died in 1853 and 1885, respectively. Do I have some jumbled information or the wrong John H. or both? By the way, does H. stand for "Hussey"? Sorry for the protracted message. Gigi
