I'm not convinced I'm wrong, we may be talking about different people. However, the parents names do seem to match. Maybe you could provide more information.
I have only one Joseph, born about 1869(son of Patrick), in my search). I have quite a bit of information about the Newark Nestors but have been unable to make the key connection with Michael Nestor (my great grandfather). I have 2 other Patricks, both of whose sons lived on Baldwin St., Newark in 1920(census) and were born about 1857. Joseph Nestor was married to Ann in St Bridget's Church in Newark in 1895(church records). I had assumed he was related to the Nestors in Sussex/Morris County because he was from "_____?_____ville". I'm not aware of any towns in Hudson County ending in ville. This may be wishful thinking because I was trying to make the connection.
There was a Michael Nestor married at St Columba's but not mine. The key point of connection was Baldwin St, Newark ( there were many Nestors there) and St Bridget's ( where many Nestors were married and baptised)
Do you have a connection between those in Newark, North Jersey and Jersey City? I'm told that either John or William(both born in Newark) was Chief of Police in Jersey City about 1930.
