I am new to genealogy research, but have found that my great great grandfather, William J. Allen, married an Anliza Nester on 23 Feb 1854 in Boone County, MO. There were no Nesters listed for the 1850 Boone census, but in 1840 neighboring Howard County had two--Jacob (20-30 years old) and Frederick (40-50). I am wondering if Anliza was daughter to one of them, if Jacob was Frederick's son, and if this Frederick is the same recorded for Linn Co. in 1880.
Help! Would greatly appreciate any suggestions.
