Thomas Ness b ca 1833. Migrates to Clinton, Champlain County, NY, US ca late 1850s-early 1860s. Marries Martha Barker in Clinton early 1860s. Barkers are known entities in East and West Riding York before their immigration late 1830s-pre 1842.

Between 1865-1868 Thomas moves to Eau Claire, Eau Claire, WI. Lived there in 1870 census. Moves to Rock Creek, Dunn Co., WI 1870s. 1880 census shows there. No later word in census.

Nesses lived/live in the area. Son William Ness, and his daughter Ruby Ness in area. Small contact with Ruby Ness in 1980s. Family very hesitant to discuss anything.

1850s/60s immigrant citizenship papers, Thomas says he was born (resident?) of York (York city?, Yorkshire?, North Riding York?, East Riding York?, West Riding York?). Born 1833.

Have run mass searches for him across all of York, (and England, Scotland, and Wales) without a seemingly valid connection.

His children's names (if namesaking used) are:
William W., Sarah E., Alice Gertrude, and potentially a relative, cousin, or farmhand listed on the farm John A. (with parents both born Scotland)1880 census.

Can anybody lend a Dunn County, WI or Yorkshire, ENG hand?
