Mary Rita NeSmith, 79
TELL CITY — Mary Rita NeSmith, 79, died Friday, April 12, 2002, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center in Owensboro, Ky.
She was born May 24, 1922, the daughter of the late Bennie and Theresa Jarboe.
She was united in marriage March 2, 1973, to James “Jack” NeSmith. They were married 23 years. He died June 12, 1996.
She retired from General Electric after 30 years service and was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2939 Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting, playing bingo and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are a daughter, Sandy NeSmith DeLacey of Owensboro; a son, Randy NeSmith of Owensboro; six grandchildren, Robin Singletary, Bill, John Eric, Jason and Guy Anthony DeLacey and April Mourning; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, at St. Paul Catholic Church in Tell City. The Rev. Carl Deitchman officiated. Burial was in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Tell City.
Zoercher-Gillick Funeral Home, Tell City, was in charge of arrangements where a prayer service was held Monday evening.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Catholic Church.
