You are right, KT. I failed to include "Naesmyth" on my list of ways to spell, but that or NaeSmyth is the spelling I use on all the Scotland line to distinguish it from the New World names. The given names for the Scotland and New World Naesmyths are so similar, I had to do something to be able to find the right person on my list. Yes, our line includes James Naesmyth of Posso, and I am collecting a lot of information about him. It is not there, however, that my line has come into question. It is with Thomas NeSmith, b.1703 in Monmouth, NJ, and his son Thomas NeSmith, b. 22 Nov 1741. Many of us have these two (and their descendants) in our line, but we haven't come up with primary evidence they descend from James Neismith b. 1670 Earleshaugh, arrived Dec. 1784 Monmouth NJ.
