S.P. Nesmith was my second-great grandfather, but, due to an abundance of Samuels in the Nesmith family, I can't figure out who is parents were. Your info differs somewhat from mine, so maybe we can piece something together.

I find that Julia Pruitt was S.P.'s wife. I believe her mother's name was Rhoda because, after S.P.'s death at the Battle of Seven Pines, a grandmother of that name is shown to be living with the family.

S.P. and Julia had children Herbert McCrae (my great-grandfather), Emma, and Perry.

I have to go to work, but, if this is still a live connection, let me know, and I'll tell you what else I have found.
