John Nesmith of Maryland

A John Nesmith was shipped to Maryland in the early 1700s, as a convict. Lots were drawn among political prisoners in England, to determine which would die and which would be transported to the Colonies. John was one of the winners. Not having the particulars with me, I think he arrived in 1740. He shipped aboard the LEEDS, if I remember correctly. I have never heard of anyone doing research on his line, that I recall. Does anyone have that information and can anyone tell me from which Scottish line he came?
I am having trouble getting on this Genealogy.com site. The site sometimes accepts my password/user name and the next time, it won't.
So, in order to reach me please use:

Thank you.
