I am trying to find out how many John Wesley Nesmiths there were. This John W. Nesmith is the great grandfather of my daughter in law.
John W. Nesmith age ?44? and the birth state seems to be Oklahoma.It had to be Indian Territory or Oklahoma Territory. Statehood was in 1907. His father born in Alabama
His wife's name looks to be Bette D. age 37 born in Texas.
They have six children in the home.
Clarence D. age 17 OK
Murtie R. (Risser) age 16 OK married Claud Boyett.
Beulah age 14 OK
John T. age 12 OK
James A.? age 10
Juanita O.or A.?

This couple represent the lines I am following in Nesmith and Masters.
I think "A" John T. Nesmith is the father of John W., but in Winston Co AL 1880 Census, there is a John W. age 4, son of a John (what else?) Nesmith b. 1840 AL TN TN John 1840's wife is Elizebeth age 33 AL TN GA.
In the Southwestern corner of Oklahoma, there are many Nesmith family. I think I have looked at every mention I can find on a search.
Who can tell me the line of Nesmith ancestors that moved to Indian Territory, southwestern part of Oklahoma, about the late 1890's to early 1900's
