To Whom It May Concern: I am a direct descendant of Samuel Nesmith of Williamsburg Dist., SC, one of Gen. Francis Marion's personal sharpshooting bodyguards. His daughter Sarah married John Brockinton. Their son Samuel Brockinton was my great-grandfather. They moved first to Atallah Co., MS, thence to central Arkansas, where one of their daughters, Josephine Louisa Brockinton, married Jesse Boyd, also born SC. They were my grandparents. Sarah suffered loss of all her inheritance from Samuel due to her marriage to John Brockinton. I seek further information about Samuel, Sarah's father, from other of his descendants, perhaps some of his Revolutionary War exploits. The Mel Gibson film "The Patriot" depicted that area of the War for Independence. Thank you for any assistance you might offer. --- Bob Boyd
