Hello, Ron.
I have a Nesler family history that begins with John Nesler whose wife was Susan Garner. I do not know how accurate it is because I did not do the research for it. Here's how it reads, "In the year 1815 among the early settlers was John Nesler. He was a short, thick-set man from Kentucky, native of Pennsylvania who came of German descent. John Nesler was reared in Pennsylvania and came to Wabash County, Illinois when a young man. He was married to Susan Garner who was born in Wayne County, Illinois. John Nesler bought a large tract of land on March 20, 1817. He cleard part of the land and finally became a large dealer in stock. Later he went to Indiana and carried on his stock business on a large scale, but died in Wabash County while living with his daughters. John Nesler was a respected man and served on the first panel of Grand jurors of the Circuit Court of Edwards County, Illinois, which ocnvened July 11, 1815. In politics, he was a Whig. Susan Garner was the daughter of Walter Garner."
The history continues with his son, James, the direct line to my husband and mother-in-law.
I hope this info helps.
Marilyn
