William Nesbitt & Sister Esther Nesbitt of Iredell Co, NC

In the William Nesbitt Family Bible William Nesbitt is listed to have been born 8 May, 1769. In the 1850 Iredell Co, NC census William Nesbitt is listed as an 81 y/o Teacher living in the household of James L Nesbitt (his son). In that same census 78 y/o, Deaf and Dumb Esther Nesbitt is living in the same household. It appears that these same two individuals are living in the household of another son named Maxwell Nesbitt in the 1840 Iredell Co, NC census. That older female in 1840 is also labeled being deaf and dumb. In Vol 4, pg 233 of the Rowan Co NC Minutes of the Court of Pleas and Quarter Sessions dated 9 Feb, 1780 William Nesbitt, identified as a 12 y/o orphan of Moses Nesbitt is bound until the age of 21 to Alex. Sloan to learn the trade of Weaver. It appears this Alex. Sloan is William Alexander Sloan, Weaver, whose wife was Jane Stevenson, a first cousin of William Nesbitt.

In the will of Moses Nesbitt he mentions among other children a son named William and a daughter named Esther. I believe that William and Esther are two of his children.
