My paternal grandmother was born Norah Henrietta Nesbitt in 1902. She married my grandfather Edward Vivian Broadhead in 1929. My grandfather changed the family name to Brown before he married my grandmother. He was born in Barnsley Sheffield England in 1894. He enlisted at the beginning of WWI, & during the war made the acquaintance of Samuel Nesbitt, my grandmother's elder brother (he was born in 1893). It was Victor who introduced them. He later moved to Chicago where his family still lives (as far as I know).
My grandmother had 4 other siblings: Margaret Winnifred (1891), Kathleen Clarabelle (1896), Wilfred Alexander (1898) & Patricia (1904). Her parents were Samuel Sproule Nesbitt (1862-1916) & Marguerita Wilhemina Henderson (1863-1946), who were both born in Ireland (I believe). I believe they married in the late 1880's. Samuel died in Buffalo NY while Marguerita died in Toronto. All their children were born in Toronto.
My grandparents had 3 children: Ron (1930-89), Aileen (1932-) & (my father) Barry (1933). Aileen was born in Guatemala City, I believe Uncle Ron was born in South Africa, while my dad was born in Canada. My father married my mum June Audrey Harker (1933-2002) in Oct. 1963. I was born in 1965 & my brother Brad was born in 1971. Aunt Aileen married Robert Moore in 1954, & has the following children: Cynthia, Darcy, Scott & Marilyn (all married with children). Uncle Ron married Lorraine Quackenbush in 1955, they had 2 children: Heather & Dana. Both I believe to be married with children. Aunt Lorrie died in 2001.
