I have just started doing research on my GG-grandmother Kate Isadora Nesbit Wood. My Wood family book tells me Kate's parents were William and Elizabeth Faris Nesbit. Kate was born in Kenton county Kentucky according to the Wood book. I have been looking at the census and found William Nesbit living in Covington, Kenton county, Kentucky ( 5th Ward) in 1850- it says:
William Nesbit-35- carpenter-born unknown
Elizabeth-26-born Ohio
Benjamin - 4 born KY
Catherine-4 months old- b. KY

I have not been able to find William Nesbit after the 1850 census- but I do know Elizabeth died Nov. 29,1855 in Kenton county, Kentucky from consumption. It states her parents were Thomas & Eliz Faris. I have looked over the census for 1830 and 1840 and the best I can tell it appears that William Nesbit's parents were Jeremiah Nesbit and Eleanor ( Ellen Long??) that are on the 1850 census living in Washington township, Marion county, Indiana. My GG Grandmother Kate Isadora Nesbit Wood has listed on the later census that her Mother was born in Ohio and her Father was born in Indiana. Kate Nesbit Wood married Thomas Vincent Wood Jr.- They are buried in the Raymond City Cemetery, Raymond, Montgomery county, Illinois. Have you found anyone who is doing research on the Jeremiah & Ellen Long Nesbit line? I would be very interested in any information you may be able to share with me about the Nesbit family. Thanks-Mary
