HI, I don't know how I missed this post but I appologize for the delay. Here is some information as to why I am looking for a Nancy Nesbitt. I have a Nash ancestor that either married a nesbitt or had a child by one. This child was named John Nesbitt Nash. He must have known who his mother was and other relatives. He was orphaned at about the age of 4 and left to live with an Aunt and Uncle Samuel Nesbitt and Mary Nash Nesbitt. I do know that Mary Nash is not a direct relative of John Nesbitt Nash. They lived in SC. John Nesbitt Nash was born in Anson Co NC. This is a border county to SC. After much research I have tracked the Nesbittsd and 2 different Nash lines from VA to NC to SC. Now, based on naming habits of for children by parents I beleive that John Nesbitt's mother may have been a Nancy Nesbitt. It is possible it is another name. But I have found some lineage for Nesbits on the net that would indicate that Samuel Nesbit had brothers and sisters and one of those relatives or cousins was in fact a Nancy and could have been the one I am looking for. Now, since John Nesbit Nash was living with an Aunt Mary Nesbitt (nash) he may have considered her more of a mother than his real mother. His first daughter was named Mary Jane Nash. His second daughter was named Nancy Nash. His 3rd daughter was Rebecca Nash. Since I have not found any Nancy's in my Nash line I am assuming this came from the Nesbit line. There is a Nancy Nesbitt who is the daughter of Samuel and Mary (Nash) Nesbitt. I am assuming this Nancy came from a marriage with a Samuel Nesbitt who was the brother of John Nesbitt who is the Father of the Samuel Nesbitt who married Mary Nash. I can send an outline of all these Nesbitts if that would help. Are you sure you are looking for REED? I think the Nesbitts intermarried with READ. I know of READ's in the area during that period. Well, let me know if you need anything from me. I would love to know if you get anything on this Nancy Nesbit. Have a great day! Alan Nash anash1@nc.rr.com Notify Administrator about this message?
