Great. We'd like to find a connection too.
The known data we have is that a Nancy Nesbitt married William Reed, and they emigrated from somewhere in the U.S. to Canada after the Revolution, and brought 4 grown sons and some daughters (3?) to Canada with them, then had 2-3 more girls. We believe that they arrived somewhere near Kingston Ontario around 1780, and then moved on to the Belleville area by about 1787.
Children include
John (m. Esther Etherly (sp.?))
Samuel (m. Mary Lake)
Solomon (m. Sarah Lake)
William Jr (m. Elizabeth Dixon)
Susan (m. Samuel Hough)
Elizabeth (m. William Foster)
Abigail (m. John Spencer, then Daniel Way)
Nancy (m. Elias Huffman)
Sarah (m. Cyrus Parks)
There are two Loyalist William Reeds documented, one a private in Butler's Rangers, the other a Sergeant in the South Carolina Loyal Militia. Family tradition has it that our William is from Butler's Rangers, and was from Connecticut, but other sources claim he was in the SCLM, and could therefore easily have married someone from Carolina.
The woman we are seeking couldn't have been born as later as 1764, or she'd have only been 16 with her 7 grown children, but if you can find her family perhaps she was named for an aunt and we can make a connection. We haven't had any luck yet locating a discernable family for either William or Nancy, nor any definite record of marriage or their children's births.
So in other words, anything you can fill in on some Nesbitts might help find a connection. Let us know what your starting point is that has you looking for Nancy.
