I am researching Nelson of Northeast KY, 1775-1830.Found this Power of Attorney.Does anyone have more on thisNelson-Bush connection, or the lawsuit?
17 August 1820 Madison Co. Book of Deeds, Vol. P, 1821-23, p. 94 & 95:
Know all men by these presents that we Mourning Bush, James Nelson and Letha Nelson wife of James Nelson for and in consideration of the confidence we have in Thomas Hooton of Madison County and State of Kentucky and of one dollar to us in hand paid we constitute and appoint and do by these presents constitute and appoint said Hooton our attorney in fact for the purpose herein expressed to wit we hereby authorize said Hooton to sell and convey by deed of general warranty a certain tract of land lying on the head of Silver Creek in Madison county containing one hundred and thirty acres surveyed and Pattented in the name of Phillip Bush also one tract containing two hundred and twenty acres lying on the East fork of silver creek surveyed in the name of said Bush all ?accounting done under the Power we hereby ratify and confirm.17 August 1820.Given under our hands and seals this 17th day of August 1820.

All acts done under this power we hereby ratify and confirm.

Kentucky Madison County}I David Irvine Clerk of the Court for the County aforesaid do hereby certify that this Power of Attorney was produced to me in my office on the 20th day of June 1821 and proven to be the act and deed of Mourning Bush, James Nelson, and Lethea his wife, and Henrietta Bush by the oath of Itha Harrison, and also at another time towit on the ?7th day of January 1822 it was also proven by the oath of Aggy Hooten, both subscribing witnesses thereto and the same day has been duly Recorded in my office.Attest:David Irvine C.M.C.C.
