Is there any proof of the parents of either Jordan or Phoebe? I have seen none. Some claim Jordan was the son of William Nelms and Anna Dillard Shepard and Phoebe was a Hansard. I descend from Jordan and Phoebe through their daughter Mary H. Nelms who married Hiram Gaines Adams on 3 Dec 1829 in Elbert Co. Phoebe was shown as age 90 on the 1860 census of Elbert Co.and living next door to Hiram and Mary Nelms Adams.
