I am researching Penelope Ann NELMS (b. ca. 1823 in either NC or TN, d. aft. 21 Jun 1870 [prob] MS. She was married to William JOHNSON (b. ca. 1818 in either KY or SC). They had 9 children:

Samuel H. JOHNSON b. ca. 1843 m. Margaret E. UNKNOWN
William R. JOHNSON b. ca. 1844
Robert B. JOHNSON b. ca. 1846
Littlebury JOHNSON b. ca. 1848

George J. JOHNSON b. ca. 1858
Madison JOHNSON b. ca. 1863
Martha Ann JOHNSON b. ca. 1866
