Hello, you mentioned that the book you have dates the Nells from the early 1800's, but you know of earlier Nells in central PA. Please give me more info. I have been trying to find out more on a Catherine Nell. She married a Paul Troup(Traub), no dates, but her sons were Abraham b.1796, Emanuel b.1814, and Jacob no date but the I know the first 2 sons listed were born in York Co., PA and the 3rd son listed died in Latimore, Adams Co.,PA. Catherine's husband's father was Johann Paul Traub b. 1725 Germany d. 1786 in Millerstown, Perry Co., PA., but his will was probated in York Co., PA. He had settled in York Co., but some of his offspring ventured to Cumberland and Perry Co..
Let's see if a Nell was on the ship "Ann" from Rotterdam in 1749, John Spurier Master. Arrived Phila.PA, took oath Sept 28,1749. The family whereabouts seem to be similar to your book. I have just seen two differ families I was looking up that wed differ generations had come over on the same ship and had settled in same area. Maybe, see what you can find out, and would you look up for me? Thank you
