Hi Daniel,
My grandfather was also named Charles Neiman. His full name was Charles Edwin Neiman. He was born in 1894 in Altoona, PA. However, he was not Lebonese or Syrian as far as I can tell. I think he was of English or German origin. Charles Edwin had three children in Altoona. They were Herndon, Harold, and Kathleen. Kathleen died at a young age. That's about all I know about my grandfather Charles up until the 1930s. What's interesting is that your granfather Charles died around that time. My grandfather Charles got married for the second time around the 1930s to a Mary Mildred York. They moved to Ohio and then out to CA. They had one male child who was born in 1933, Gerald Vernon Neiman... my father. Charles and Mildred lived mostly on the west cost beginning in the 1950s.
