Pg. 46 The third of the seven McMILLAN children was MARGARET. She was born in North Strabane Township, Washington County, in the McMILLAN mans, on June 28, 1781. She grew up in the surroundings of the manse an in the company of theological students. She was in her nineteenth year when JOHN WATSON, who had just had a Call from the church at Washington, Pa., and one from the Miller’s Run Church, asked for her hand. She and her sister JEAN were married in a double wedding in 1800, and on November 30, 1802, JOHN WATSON died. Only a few months before, he had been elected principal of the newly organized Jefferson College. He was looked upon as a young genius. He left two children: JOHN WATSON II and WILLIAM MOREHEAD WATSON (who was born the day his father died). About eight years later MARGARET married JOHN NEILL, an elder in her father’s church. He lived in Peters Township near where the Center Presbyterian Church now stands. He had had eight children by his first wife, who had died in 1808. Five children were born to this marriage with MARGARET McMILLAN WATSON. She died in 1853 at the age of seventy-two and was buried in the Center Church Cemetery. Children: JOHN WATSON II & WILLIAM MOREHEAD WATSON About 8 years later MARGARET married JOHN NEILL, an elder in her father’s church. He lived in Peters Twp. near the Center Presbyterian Church now stand. He has had 8 children by his first wife, who had died in 1808. Five children were born to his marriage with MARGARET McMILLAN WATSON. MARGARET died in 1853 at the age of 72 and was buried in the Center Church Cemetery. Notify Administrator about this message?
