In case you have not gotten further information in the meantime, my information shows your Susan Neill is the daughter of William M. Neill, b. 5 Feb 1837, TN; d. 15 Dec 1913, Barry CO, MO, and bur. in Osa Cemetery, Barry CO, MO. Susan's mother was Elizabeth Smith, b. 1836, IN; d. 1900, Barry CO, MO, and also bur. in Osa Cemetery. They were married 20 Jan 1856 by Robert Stubblefield, J.P., in Barry CO, MO.
Your William Neill would be my 2x great-granduncle, because his parents, Peter A. Neill and Susan Runyon, are my 3x ggparents.
