My husbands family have a Ebenezer who would have been born around 1825 in Ayrshire. We think he is the son of John (1766-1825) and Mary McCreath. John was killed in the coal pit at or near Kilmarnock. Does this help?

We too have found about this Ebenezer who was the Mayor of Bendigo and was married to Mary Stevenson and had a son William.
